Non-exempt employees shall be paid overtime at the rate of one and one-half times the employee’s straight hourly rate. Overtime is paid for all hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours in one week. For purposes of this policy, worked hours include vacation, ill, jury duty, and holiday time. Employees are not permitted to work overtime without prior approval of their supervisor. Any hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours per week are not to be applied to compensatory time.

Overtime for bargaining unit members shall be determined consistent with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This Policy shall at all times be interpreted consistent with the requirements of state and federal overtime rules, including but not limited to the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and 454 CMR 27.
