Hazardous material must be disposed of in the appropriate container in the Facilities Management Building.
PROCEDURE:
1. The following materials must be segregated as hazardous waste
• Acids-inorganic Pesticides
• Acids-organic Photo fixer
• Bases-alkaline Photo developer
• Bases-flammable Any Photo product
• Flammable liquids Silica gel
• High hazard peroxide formers Reactive
• Mercury, or any solution containing Oil
• Metals, or any solution containing Oxidizers
• Solvents-non-halogenated organic Solvents-halogenated
• Waste reactive compounds TV and computer monitors
• Mercury florescent lighting tubes Paints, lead and latex
