S7.21 Student-Athlete Conduct and Compliance

Stonehill College sponsors varsity NCAA Division I Intercollegiate Athletic programs, which are subject to NCAA and Northeast Conference (NEC) rules and regulations. 

As outlined in the Stonehill Student-Athlete Handbook, student-athletes are responsible for abiding by all NCAA, NEC, and other collegiate athletic regulations, as well as adhering to all Stonehill College community standards. Each student-athlete is responsible for conducting themselves in an appropriate manner at all times and proudly representing the Department of Athletics and Stonehill College.

Specific expectations of student-athletes and sanctions for violations of the policies are covered in the Student-Athlete Handbook in detail and include, but are not limited to, the topics of:

  • General conduct and sportsmanship
  • Use of tobacco, drugs, alcohol, and nutritional supplements
  • NCAA and institutional drug testing
  • Hazing
  • Gambling
  • Social Media
  • Athletic eligibility and financial aid
  • Academic eligibility
  • Violation of College Community Standards

In addition to sanctions determined through the College disciplinary process, personal conduct infractions may result in additional sanctions to be determined on an individual basis by the Department of Athletics.
