E3.17 Outside Employment

Effective Date: August 30, 2019
Last Reviewed: August 30, 2019

Employees are not prohibited from outside employment unless it creates a conflict of interest or interferes with their ability to perform their work for the College in a satisfactory manner. Employees are not permitted to accept another job that has overlapping hours with the hours the College requires them to work.

Employees who are out of work based on a workers’ compensation claim, family or medical leave, sick time or sick leave, or other leave are not allowed to work for themselves or a third party (excluding performance of duties in connection with military leave) without the express written permission of the Director of Human Resources.

For the purposes of this Policy work includes action taken for compensation or action taken in a volunteer or pro bono capacity and includes action taken on behalf of friends and relatives.

Violation of this Policy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
