The College’s standard business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., exclusive of College holidays, days off, summer schedule, or College-approved early dismissal days. For payroll purposes the standard workweek begins on Sunday at 12:01 a.m. and ends on Saturday at 12:00 midnight.
Work schedules will be determined to accommodate both the College’s operational needs and the employee’s right to a reasonable work schedule and shall comply with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 100.
The standard work week for the College is 35 hours. The standard work day is 8 hours with a 60 minute unpaid meal break.
Faculty work schedules do not necessarily follow standard business hours and are set by the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Schedules of employees who are collective bargaining members are set in compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Employees who work at least 6 consecutive hours are entitled to a 60 minute unpaid meal break. The College also provides employees a 15 minute paid break during the course of the workday. The break is not to exceed 15 minutes and is based upon operational needs of the department. Because this is a paid break, employees must remain on campus.
